Creative Places, Edenderry is a community-based initiative connecting people through creative activity. Supported by The Arts Council/An Chomhairle Ealaíon, Offaly County Council’s Arts Office, Municipal District of Edenderry, Offaly Libraries and Creative Lives, the project works collaboratively with local residents, artists and groups to build a stronger, more connected community through creativity.
About the post
We are now seeking a freelance Project Support Worker, based in or near Edenderry, to assist with coordination and community engagement activity during the next phase of the project (January – June 2026).
The successful candidate will provide practical and administrative support to the Creative Places, Edenderry Coordinator and Creative Lives team, helping to sustain communications, outreach and engagement with local community groups and artists.
The Project Support Worker will:
- Undertake tasks that are time-intensive or logistically challenging for the Coordinator, such as distributing leaflets or surveys around the town
- Maintain a regular presence in Edenderry (for example, setting up an information point at the Library or other agreed public space) to answer community queries and share project information
- Act as a point of contact for community members when the Coordinator is unavailable
- Visit local creative groups and ensure that activities are running smoothly, reporting any updates or issues to the Coordinator
- Provide light-touch communications support, including helping to gather content for social media or website updates
- Help plan and facilitate meetings such as the Community Forum and Artists’ Collective, in partnership with the Coordinator
- Represent Creative Places, Edenderry at community meetings and events when requested
- Support project evaluation and administration, including helping to collect feedback, photo consent forms, attendance data, and other monitoring information
- Attend Governance Team meetings and agreed catch-up sessions with the Coordinator and Creative Lives team
Terms of agreement
This is a freelance contract, not employment. You will be responsible for your own tax, insurance, and any other statutory obligations. We will agree on deliverables, outputs and deadlines, but you will have full discretion over how, when and where the work is carried out, provided it meets agreed outcomes and timescales.
Total fee: €2,550 (inclusive of all taxes and expenses) based on approximately 17 days of work at €150 per day, with specific milestones and deliverables agreed in advance.
Timeframe: January – June 2026
